Site: Municipal Park – Monmouth County, NJ
Project Concerns: Envirotactics was contracted to prepare and submit a CAFRA Individual Permit for the re-development of a municipal park. The park was used for mixed recreation and had baseball fields, a concession stand, tennis courts, playground areas and a small boat launch area. Due to the waterfront location of the park CAFRA and coastal wetlands were a concern.
Services: Envirotactics prepared the CAFRA individual permit application for submission to the NJDEP Components of the application included: the delineation of coastal wetlands, a preliminary wildlife habitat assessment, and preparation of a compliance statement in accordance with CAFRA regulations. The CAFRA application addressed and provided compliance for all environmental constraints addressed under the CAFRA regulations. Specifically, coastal wetlands and coastal wetlands buffers, threatened and endangered species, flood hazard areas, coastal bluffs and impervious coverage requirements. The permit application was submitted and Envirotactics acted as the agent on the client’s behalf. Once the application packet was submitted to the NJDEP, Envirotactics provided application support. This included all correspondence, meetings, and site visits with the NJDEP, the client and others involved in the development including: engineers, architects, and attorneys.
Successful Conclusion: The CAFRA Individual Permit was approved by the NJDEP and the redevelopment of the park began.
